Motorcyclist killed in crash in northeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle vs. SUV crash in Colorado Springs Saturday.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. in the area of N. Union Boulevard and Vickers Drive.

Police say the motorcyclist was traveling north on Union and the driver of the SUV was making a left turn onto Buttermilk Circle.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene, according to authorities.

Police say speed appears to be a contributing factor in this crash.

There were no other reported injuries.

Northbound Union was closed for several hours as authorities investigation. Roads in the area have since re-opened.
