Debate over public marijuana consumption in Denver continues

DENVER, Colo. — The city of Denver is set to finalize regulations for public marijuana consumption, but advocates say the regulations are too restrictive.

Under the regulations, any restaurant, music venue or event space that serves alcohol could not hold a marijuana-themed event unless they suspend their liquor license.

Other regulations include a proper ventilation system, no permits for city parks or Red Rocks, and the requiring of signed waivers from customers.

Voters passed Initiative 300, the Cannabis Consumption Pilot Program, last November.
