Fill a bag, feed a family: Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to benefit southern Colorado families

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Care and Share Food Bank is asking for your support as it joins letter carries in the 25th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday, May 13.

It’s the largest one-day food drive in the country hosted by the National Association of Letter Carriers.

“Stamp Out Hunger is like no other food drive. It allows every community across the country to collectively come together on one day to do their part to fight hunger. We are so grateful to community members who donate non-perishable items and for the letter carriers who take the time to collect each bag to help fight hunger in Southern Colorado,” said Lynne Telford, President and CEO.

If you’d like to help, collect non-perishable food items and leave them in a sturdy bag near your mailbox on Saturday morning. A letter carrier will collect the donation and deliver them to Care and Share the same day. The items will then be distributed to those facing hunger right here in southern Colorado.

In 2016, volunteers sorted through nearly 80,000 pounds of food donated for Stamp Out Hunger.
