Teachers turn to GoFundMe for help obtaining school supplies

DENVER, Colo. — Tight budgets for teachers nationwide are forcing many to get creative.

Research from the crowdfunding site GoFundMe shows 91 percent of teachers used their own money to pay for school supplies.

FOX31’s Shaul Turner has more on the growing trend of teachers turning to crowdfunding to help bring in the money they need to stock up on school supplies.

To find local GoFundMe campaigns that benefit students, visit GoFundMe and search for school supplies programs by area code.

Several campaigns are running in Colorado.
