Pedestrian seriously injured in crash in downtown Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash in downtown Colorado Springs Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police said the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Tejon Street and Platte Avenue. The pedestrian was crossing Tejon Street in the middle of the block when he was hit by a car that was backing up to park.

The intersection was closed for about two hours while police investigated the crash.

Police said the pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed.
