Manitou Springs Elementary students donate toys to kids at Memorial Hospital

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A class from Manitou Springs Elementary School spent Friday with kids stuck in the hospital this holiday.

Over the last few weeks, the fifth graders partnered with the first graders to collect toys, games and stuffed animals.

Friday they brought them all to Memorial Hospital.

The kids figured parents had enough on their plates between worry and medical bills, so they’re hoping to make everyone’s day a little brighter.

“It makes me really excited, especially if I was in the hospital to get a present from somebody I didn’t even know would be awesome – that would make me super happy,” said fifth grader Sierra Dunlap.

The good deeds didn’t end there.

After the hospital, the kids went to the Humane Society to read to lonely animals.
