Colorado Springs police looking for suspects who fired at officers during overnight chase

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are trying to determine if the suspects who fired at officers during a chase overnight were also involved in two robberies and two car thefts in northeastern Colorado Springs.

Police said around 11:45 p.m. Monday, they got a call about an armed robbery on Austin Bluffs Parkway just west of Academy Boulevard. While investigating this crime, they learned about another robbery in the area of East Woodmen Road and Marksheffel Road. They also learned two cars had been stolen in the same area around the same time.

Police said the suspects in all four incidents were wearing similar clothing. Police are trying to determine if the cases are related.

During the investigation, officers were involved in a car chase. The suspects in the chase fired at least two rounds at the officers, hitting their marked cars, according to the police department.

No serious injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
