Weekend Scene: 11/26

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — As always, there’s plenty to do this weekend in southern Colorado.

First up, it’s Christmas season in Manitou Springs. The Christmas Parade in Manitou is Saturday night. The event is free and starts at 6 p.m. along Manitou Avenue. For more information, visit manitouchristmasparade.com .

The Antlers Hotel will host the third annual Nutcracker Tea. There will be free face painting for kids, gingerbread house decorating, and an appearance from Santa Claus. Also, performers from the Oklahoma City Ballet will be there. It all starts Saturday at 10 a.m. at the hotel. For ticket pricing and more information, visit antlers.com .

Old Colorado City will host its Christmas Stroll. There will be performances by carolers and the Pikes Peak Youth Bell Ringers, and Christmas specials in various shops. Santa’s Workshop will also open in the park, so kids can get their picture taken with the big guy himself. The Elizabeth Christmas Festival is Saturday. It will be at Holly Acres Nursery in Elizabeth from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Kids can make ornaments with Santa’s elves while parents select that perfect Christmas tree and taste wine and foods from local vendors. Sports fans, this event is for you. The Air Force Academy and Colorado College face off Saturday night. The hockey game kicks off at 6:07 p.m. at the Broadmoor World Arena.
