One arrested, three still wanted for robbery at Colorado Springs off-track betting business

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — One person has been arrested and three are still wanted in connection with a robbery at a Colorado Springs off-track betting business Friday night.

Police said the robbery happened around 9 p.m. at Post Time on North Academy Boulevard. A security guard working at the business shot one of the suspects, hitting him in the lower body. The suspect fell, but was able to crawl away from the business. A passerby found him lying in the grass a short distance away, bleeding heavily.

The suspect, 29-year-old Damien Lewis, was taken to the hospital. There’s no word on his current condition. Lewis will be charged with aggravated robbery, a class three felony.

Police are still looking for the three other armed and masked men who robbed the business. No descriptions of the suspects were immediately available.
