PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — Two men were arrested Sunday in connection with a home burglary in the Boone area.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a possible home burglary in the 1600 block of 51st Lane Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses told deputies they saw two men, later identified as 19-year-old Zackary Michael Ortega and 23-year-old Sheldon Franco, driving in the area in a white Toyota Corolla.

Officials say deputies in the area saw the suspect vehicle and stopped it on Highway 50 and 36th Lane. The suspects gave inconsistent information to deputies and collected evidence at the victim’s home that connected them to the burglary.

Ortega and Franco were both arrested for second degree burglary, theft and criminal mischief. Both were booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center.

Investigators are looking into whether other area burglaries may be connected.

The investigation is ongoing.
