Crowd boos, cheers Mike Pence at “Hamilton” showing

NEW YORK CITY — There was a special guest at Friday night’s performance of the Broadway hit “Hamilton” in New York City – Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Pence, however, didn’t quite exactly receive a warm welcome.

He was met with equal amounts of cheering and booing, all of it caught on cell phone video that quickly spread online.

The Hamilton cast heard he was coming via social media, and cast member Brandon Dixon – who plays Aaron Burr – read a message directly addressed to Pence.

He urged him to uphold American values and said the new administration has already alarmed many Americans.
