Man killed in Park County single-car crash

PARK COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal single-car crash Saturday night.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Colorado 9, about 8 miles south of Fairplay.

Troopers say the driver, a 53-year-old individual from Fairplay, was traveling south on Highway 9 when the vehicle drifted off the road. Troopers say the driver steered to the left, causing the vehicle to rotate and roll several times.

According to authorities, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

Officials say speed and alcohol/drugs area not factors in this crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
