COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 7, 2016) — Deputies are looking for a man who is accused of setting fire to a woman in a car.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 5 p.m. Sunday on Forest Road, which is in the Stratmoor Hills area. When first responders arrived, they found a car on fire and a woman and a girl with burn injuries. The victims were taken to the hospital.

Deputies said the incident began as an argument between the woman and the suspect, 36-year-old Consepcion Rascon Jr. Rascon threw an accelerant on the woman, ignited a fire, and left the scene, according to deputies. The girl, 14, was burned as she tried to put out the fire.

Rascon is wanted for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree arson, child abuse, and domestic violence.

Deputies have learned there may be people helping Rascon in the Stratmoor Hills and Deerfield Hills areas. They remind residents it’s illegal to help someone who has committed a crime, and anyone assisting Rascon could be charged with accessory to attempted murder.

UPDATE (November 10, 2016): Rascon has been arrested.
