Four suspects arrested in Pueblo West shooting

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. — Four suspects have been arrested as authorities continue to investigate a shooting in Pueblo West Monday.

Police say 49-year-old Sixto Montanez, 36-year-old Henry Corral, 36-year-old Jesus Hernandez and 25-year-old Shawntaya Warren, all of Alamosa, have been booked into the El Paso County jail.

Montanez, Corral and Hernandez were arrested for attempted first degree murder and attempted aggravated robbery. Warren was arrested for attempted aggravated robbery.

Deputies responded to a residence in the 600 block of Clarion Drive around noon after reports of shots fired.

Authorities say a 40-year-old man in the apartment was wounded with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim described at least three occupants of truck or SUV as possible suspects.

Witnesses said at least two occupants of the vehicle went up to the front door of the home and several shots were fired.

Authorities say the suspects ran back into the truck and drove off east on Clarion Drive to Empress Drive toward Spaulding Avenue.

Four occupants in a similar truck were found by deputies at Zabukovic Motors located at 701 East Spaulding Avenue; evidence in connection with the incident was also found.

After being detained for questioning, the four suspects were arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
