Police investigating burglary at Colorado Springs hotel

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are investigating after four suspects broke into a hotel room early Thursday morning only to realize they were attempting to rob the wrong family.

It happened in the area near 1700 South Nevada Avenue.

According to police, four Hispanic men broke into the hotel room when they realized they were attempting to rob the wrong family.

Recognizing their error, the suspects made the victims wait in the bathroom as they fled in what was described as an older model, red pickup truck.

Police say one of the suspects was in possession of a handgun during the incident.

The victims did not recognize any of the suspects.
