Father dead, son seriously injured in Pueblo County car crash

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-car crash Friday in Pueblo West.

It happened just after 1 p.m. on Highway 50 about two miles west of McCulloch Boulevard.

Troopers say a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling westbound on the highway when the driver lost control. The truck rotated, traveled off the right side of the road and rolled twice before colliding with a fence.

The driver, identified as 62-year-old Larry Bohl Sr. of Florence, Colorado, was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, officials said.

He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, 37-year-old Larry Bohl Jr. of Pueblo, Colorado, was wearing his seatbelt. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Officials say at this time excessive speed and/or alcohol/drug use are not considered factors in this crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
