Man arrested for August shooting in Fountain

FOUNTAIN, Colo. — A man has been arrested in connection with an August shooting that left one woman injured.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. August 7 on Castle Oaks Drive, which is just off Jimmy Camp Road. When officers arrived, they saw about 30 people running away from a home and dozens of cars leaving the area.

Police determined someone had fired several shots into a home and a few cars. One of the bullets hit a 22-year-old woman, causing non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, police got an arrest warrant for a suspect, 23-year-old Jerel Couch. Couch turned himself in on Monday and has since bonded out of jail, according to police. He is charged with menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and reckless endangerment.
