Colorado woman accused of possessing, distributing child porn

DENVER — A Westminster woman is facing multiple charges for possessing and distributing child porn, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver.

Sharee Ewudzi-Acquah, 47, was arrested October 20. She is being held without bond.

Ewudzi-Acquah is charged with two counts of distribution of child porn and one count of possession of child porn. The charges come after an investigation conducted between September 2015 and July 2016.

Prosecutors said Ewudzi-Acquah used a cell phone app to share images and videos of child porn with people in San Antonio and Miami, among other places. During one chat, she claimed to have molested a relative, according to prosecutors.

The investigation found Ewudzi-Acquah was using cloud storage, foreign emails, and foreign cloud storage based in New Zealand and Russia. In total, she had three phones with child porn on them.

Ewudzi-Acquah, who worked at the University of Colorado, also traded child porn and chatted about it at work, according to prosecutors. According to the University of Colorado website, Ewudzi-Acquah was an accounting specialist in the finance and business operations department.

If convicted, Ewudzi-Acquah faces between five and 20 years in prison for each count of distribution of child porn, and up to 10 years in prison for possession of child porn.
