Final two defendants in 2013 drug operation sentenced

PUEBLO, Colo. — The final two defendants involved in a 2013 drug operation have been sentenced.

On Tuesday, James Jimenez was sentenced to 18 years in the Department of Corrections (DOC) for his involvement. Last week, Jerald Johnson was sentenced to 24 years in the DOC.

Several arrests were made and others sentenced over the past three years.

Operation Sunshine was a 6-month long investigation that began in August 2013.

The operation including a simultaneous raid of 8 houses, resulting in seizure of 6 vehicles, $118,000 in cash and 215 grams of meth, heroin and cocaine.

Phillip Duran: 30 years DOC

Patrick Duran: 10 years DOC / 16 years federal prison

Anjel Belcher-Douglas: 16 years DOC

Paul Carillo: 8 years community corrections

Melissa Duran: 2 years Pueblo County Jail / 10 years probation
