Man reported trying to jump onto passing cars, resists arrest

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man was arrested in Colorado Springs after he was reported trying to jump onto passing cars and later resisted arrest.

Police say multiple callers reported a man walking down the road in traffic near the 3000 block of North Nevada Avenue and East Fillmore Street just after 6:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the man, later identified as 28-year-old Caleb Stoller, appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was trying to jump onto passing vehicles.

Police say Stoller did not comply to the responding officer’s commands. The officer attempted to detain the suspect and tased him.

According to authorities, the taser was ineffective and a second officer was called to the scene.

Both officers attempted to detain Stoller and a struggle ensued. Police say Stoller tried to disarm one of the officers by grabbing his gun.

Stoller was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and later booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
