Police: Two juveniles responsible for burglarizing Alpine Autism Center earlier this month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Local police have conducted an investigation linking two juveniles to two burglaries earlier this month.

Officers were patrolling the 4900 block of Centennial Boulevard on Monday, October 17 just after 1:30 a.m. due to recently reported commercial burglaries.

According to authorities, officers observed a vehicle parked behind a closed business. When officers checked the area, they saw a person scaling down a gas pipe from one of the nearby businesses.

The suspect was a juvenile in possession of burglary tools and charged with burglary.

Detectives followed up and an investigation revealed the juvenile, along with a second juvenile, was responsible for a burglary that occurred at the Alpine Autism Center and also at the Grant Centennial Apartments clubhouse, police say.

A small amount of stolen property has been recovered, but the Autism Center is still missing the following items:

  • 18 iPads (both full-size and minis)
  • 10 Dell computers
  • OptiPlex 3020 desktops
  • Dell Latitude and Dell Inspiron laptops

Several of the items may have been sold through various websites.
