Two arrested in Cañon City after police find drugs in car

CAÑON CITY, Colo. — Two people were arrested Friday after officers found drugs in a car they had pulled over, according to police.

The officers stopped the car for a traffic violation on North Ninth Street, according to police. They identified one of the passengers as Tyley Delaney, who was wanted on warrants for failure to comply and failure to appear. He was arrested and taken to jail. Police also arrested the car’s driver on charges of driving under the influence of drugs.

Officers searched the car and found 29.8 grams of meth, along with other drug paraphernalia.

The arrest was made by members of the Fremont County Drug Task Force, which consists of officers from the Cañon City Police Department, Florence Police Department, and Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. Since January 1, the task force has arrested 152 people and seized nearly 500 grams of meth, nearly 70 grams of heroin, 32 grams of other drugs, and 22 guns, according to officials.
