ELECTION 2016: Colorado election ballots mailed

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — About 370,000 ballots have been mailed to county voters for the 2016 General Election, according to the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.

The ballots – which contains the race for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, U.S. Representative and other statewide and local races and ballot questions – are expected to arrive in mailboxes this week.

If you are a registered voter and have not received a ballot in your mailbox by Saturday, contact the Clerk’s Office at 719-575-VOTE (8683).

If you’re not registered, there’s still some time left.

You can register to vote by October 31 to receive a ballot in the mail. After October 31, you must register to vote in person at a Voter Service and Polling Center.

All ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 8 to be counted.

Postmarked ballots received after the deadline can not be counted. Officials say one stamp is sufficient if you’re returning your ballot in the mail.

USPS and the office of the Secretary of State both encourage completed ballots to be mailed no later than November 1 to allow for processing and tabulation.
