Study shows Colorado children injured, killed in accidental shootings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A recent study found that over a 2.5-year span, a child was involved in an accidental shooting 8 times in Colorado.

Those numbers come from a new study by the Associated Press and the USA Today network.

They looked at every death and injury across the entire country from accidental shootings that involved children 17-years-old and younger over two years.

The study found that more than 300 minors and 30 adults were fatally shot in that time period.

The AP and USA Today say the rate of accidental gun deaths are happening at a pace that exceeds what federal studies say.
