Venetucci Farm hosts annual Great Pumpkin Race

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Dozens of people, some in costume, came out Saturday for the annual Great Pumpkin Race at Venetucci Farm.

Runners participated in a 5K or 10K run and even kids ages 10 and under had their own little pumpkin run.

The severe hail damage this year took a major toll on the farm’s crop, but that didn’t stop the fall fun.

“We just made it into a big community day since we lost the pumpkins to the hailstorm,” said Susan Gordon, manager of Venetucci Farm. “We decided we’d beef up this event and have lots of different vendors and activities.”

All proceeds from Saturday’s races benefit Venetucci Farm.
