COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Firefighters are responding to reports of a possible gas leak at a shopping center located in the 6600 block of Delmonico Drive.

Officials say they received calls regarding a strong gas odor at the Rockrimmon Shopping Center shortly before 4 p.m.

Colorado Springs Utilities officials were also on scene monitoring gas readings. They said the levels were dropping.

Authorities said they had to fix an old pipe underground, but could not say if that was the cause the incident. It is still under investigation.

This comes just two days after a fire broke out in the same area Monday morning, shutting down Delmonico Drive for several hours as crews conducted post-fire safety measures and an investigation.

Several businesses were damaged.
