Woman sentenced for DUI crash that killed Rush man

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A woman has been sentenced for a DUI crash that killed a Rush man last year.

Cassandra Griffin of Colorado Springs was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison. She pled guilty in July to vehicular homicide – DUI, which is a class three felony.

The crash happened November 6 on Highway 94 at Ellicott Highway, about 16 miles east of Colorado Springs. Police said Griffin ran a stop sign and crashed into a pickup truck. The driver of the truck, 26-year-old Kyle Dunbar of Rush, died on the scene.
