Two suspects in stolen vehicles arrested after leading CSPD officers on short pursuit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two people were arrested Friday afternoon after leading officers who spotted them in separate stolen vehicles on two separate foot pursuits.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of Aeroplaza Drive and Astrozon Boulevard.

Police say an officer in the area observed a suspicious car and motorcycle parked next to each other. Both the car and motorcyle were reported stolen.

The officer attempted to stop the car but it fled the scene along with the motorcycle. He informed dispatch and as more officers came into the area, the car driver was seen leaving the area on foot.

Police say other officers located the motorcycle driver, who led them on a short pursuit before getting struck in traffic at the intersection of Astrozon and Academy.

The motorcycle driver left the bike and fled the scene on foot.

Officer pursued both suspects in two separate foot pursuits and were able to apprehend both and take them into custody.

The motorcycle driver was arrested for multiple charges including possession of a weapon by a previous offender, aggravated motor vehicle theft and other criminal and traffic charges.

Both individuals were booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
