Fort Carson Army records found in Fountain field

FORT CARSON, Colo. — Officials are investigating after Fort Carson Army records were found in a field in Fountain Wednesday, September 14.

Officials say Army records containing personal identifiable information and personal health information were discovered in the field.

The records pertain to legal actions in the 4th Infantry Division’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team between the years of 2008 and 2014, authorities said. The records were scheduled to be destroyed.

Fort Carson officials are in the process of contacting personnel affected.

All known records involved in this incident have been recovered and secured by military police investigators, authorities said.

Investigators have identified a suspect in the case and say this is an isolated incident.
