Police: Man found dead in northern Colorado Springs was murdered

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man who was found dead in northern Colorado Springs Saturday was murdered, according to police.

The victim was found dead on North Union Boulevard near Dublin Boulevard around 4:40 a.m. Saturday. He has been identified as Phillip Cyprian III, 36, of Colorado Springs.

The coroner’s office determined Cyprian died of a gunshot wound. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said there is no danger to the public.

This is the 16th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2016. At this time last year, there were 14 homicides.
