COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A second section of Marksheffel Road will be closed for road construction for about four weeks starting Monday.

The road will be closed between Bradley Road and Fontaine Boulevard. It’s expected to reopen in mid-October. Drivers are encouraged to use Bradley Road, Powers Boulevard, and Fontaine Boulevard as a detour.

This is in addition to the current closure of Marksheffel Road between the Peterson Air Force Base east gate and Drennan Road. That section of the road has been closed since May. It’s expected to reopen at the end of September.

Marksheffel will remain open from Drennan to Bradley.

Wowrk on the Marksheffel South Improvement Project started in January. The entire project is expected to be completed in 2017.
