Weekend Scene: September 4

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — There’s plenty of different ways to spend your extra day off from work this holiday weekend.

The Labor Day Lift Off Balloon Festival is celebrating its 39th year this weekend – the event is free and highlights include balloon lifts today and tomorrow and two balloon glows as well as live music. The event takes place at Memorial park, and parking fees range from $5 to $20 depending on where you park. The event lasts until Monday.

The Common Wheel Labor Day Art Festival in Manitou Springs started yesterday. Local arts and crafts, live music and of course food will be on display through Labor Day. The family-friendly event is also at Memorial Park and lasts all weekend.

If you’re looking for something unique and you’re also a baseball fan, tomorrow you can catch a “vintage baseball match” as the Camp Creek Cloud Busters take on the Colorado Territorial All-Stars from Denver. The first pitch will be at 1 p.m. at Rock Ledge Ranch in Colorado Springs. For more information click here.

Macy Egeland got to check out that event last year and shows you what you can expect.
