Road work on I-25 in southern Colorado Springs expected to last into 2017

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A months-long construction project on Interstate 25 is set to begin Wednesday.

The construction will be at the Interstate 25 and MLK Bypass interchange, between Nevada Avenue and Lake Avenue. Work includes asphalt repairs, replacement of bridge joints, and deck repairs.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2017.

Intermittent lane closures and full closures of the U.S. 24 ramp will occur overnight, during the day, and on the weekend as necessary.

Construction work hours will run from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. Closures will be lifted during non-working hours. No height or width restrictions will be in place.
