Two stolen vehicles found in high school parking lot; suspects still wanted

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are looking for suspects after they recovered three stolen vehicles in eastern Colorado Springs early Tuesday morning.

Police said their investigation began around 4:30 a.m., when a man called dispatch and said he was tracking his car, which had been stolen. The man told officers the car, a white Impala, had stopped in the area of Mitchell High School.

Officers went to the high school parking lot, where they saw a man get out of the Impala and get into a black car. The black car sped out of the parking lot headed south.

Officers then found the black car abandoned in the area of Potter Drive and Bridger Drive. They brought in a K9 to search the area, but could not find the suspects.

Police recovered the Impala, along with a white Toyota Tundra that had also been reported stolen, in the Mitchell High School parking lot. They also recovered the black car, which had been reported stolen.

No suspects have been identified.
