Motorcyclist sustains non-life threatening injuries after crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A motorcycle driver sustained non-life threatening injuries after a crash on Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs.
Officers responded to the area of Austin Bluffs Boulevard and North Union Boulevard shortly before 4 p.m. to investigate a single-vehicle motorcycle accident.
Upon arrival, they found that the motorcycle driver was ejected after losing control, making the turn from northbound Union to eastbound Austin Bluffs.
The driver was ejected into the drainage ditch and sustained non-life threatening injuries because of the protective gear the driver was wearing.
The road was closed for about an hour but has since reopened to all traffic.
Authorities want to remind people to always wear protective gear when operating a motorcycle.
