COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A downed power line in the area of Airport Road and Chelton Road has closed some lanes of traffic as the cable is being fixed.
Police responded to the area on Tuesday afternoon and found a cable line that had broken free of the pole it was attached to, causing it to hang down into the traffic lane.
Comcast responded and was able to lift the cable up high enough for westbound traffic to go through the area, but it is still hanging down into traffic on the eastbound lanes just east of Chelton Road.
Airport Road eastbound from Chelton is currently closed pending the cable being fixed. Officials say they do not know how long the repair will take.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if traveling eastbound.
