FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. – As of Sunday afternoon, visible light smoke has prompted a helicopter to issue water drops around the Jennings Fire.

Managers will continue to check the progression, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The wildfire started burning on U.S. Forest Service land, just east of Tanner Peak in the Wet Mountains on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said crews were using a helicopter to drop water on the fire and were initially unable to get ground crews in because of the location and terrain.

The helicopter was later grounded because of storms in the area but is scheduled to resume service on Sunday morning.

There is currently no threat to structures or people.
