Three teens arrested for burglarizing two Colorado Springs businesses

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Three juveniles have been arrested and charged with multiple burglaries around Colorado Springs on Friday afternoon.
Around 2:05 p.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm of a business located at 3285 South Academy Boulevard. Surveillance video showed three white male teenagers who had forced entry into the business by breaking through the glass. Once inside, they loaded their backpacks with store merchandise, vandalized the business and fled the scene.
Police responded to another burglary alarm around 4:50 p.m. from a business located at 296 South Academy Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered that the business had been burglarized in a similar fashion as the previous location.
An officer on routine patrol in the area of 1300 South Murray Boulevard spotted the suspects on bicycles and when he attempted to contact them, they tried to flee the area.
The officer was able to stop and detain one of the suspects, who was found to be in possession of merchandise stolen during the burglaries.
The other two suspects were later apprehended and stolen merchandise from both robberies were recovered.
