New bill allows parents to send medical marijuana with their kids to school

DENVER, Colo. — Governor John Hickenlooper has signed a bill allowing parents to send medical marijuana with their kids to school.

The new law requires all of Colorado’s 177 school districts to follow the policy.

Before students can take medical marijuana at school, they need two recommendations from a doctor and the official okay from the Colorado Department of Public Health.

Last month, Falcon School District 49 became the first in the state to adopt a medical marijuana policy.
