Deputies looking for witnesses who took photos on Royal Gorge train on day of fatal accident

CAÑON CITY, Colo. — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office would like to speak with witnesses who were seen taking photos on the Royal Gorge Route train the day a conductor was killed in an accident.

The accident happened Saturday night. Conductor Leslie Cacy, 28, was standing in the door opening as she backed the train into the station. She fell onto the tracks, and was run over.

There were about 200 passengers on the train at the time. Deputies are asking the passengers pictured below to call them. They’re hoping photos and video taken by the passengers will help with their investigation into what went wrong.
