COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Some residents are taking it upon themselves to help fix the city’s pothole problem by doing a little reforestation.

Employees at an auto repair shop off Royer Street and Hugo Street decided to plant a tree after their forklift got stuck in a pothole. They had to use another car to get it out, and decided it was time to call attention to the growing problem.

“With the tax dollars that we pay, it would be much appreciated if they at least patch the potholes,” mechanic Bryan Ford said. “We’re not asking for the whole street to be re-asphalted. Just the potholes to be patched.”

This is the second tree to be planted in the pothole. The guys at the auto shop said they’ll continue planting bigger trees in the pothole until the city comes out to fix it.
