Shot fired during argument in northern Colorado Springs townhome

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A woman is facing charges after her gun accidentally discharged during an argument in a Colorado Springs townhome early Tuesday morning.

Police said it happened around 4 a.m. at a home in the area of Academy Boulevard and Woodmen Road. The suspect, Lauren Miller, told police she had gotten into an argument, and had retrieved a shotgun to remove it from the situation. The gun accidentally discharged, firing a bullet into the adjoining townhome.

Police said no one in either townhome was injured.

Miller is charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment. Police said alcohol may have been a factor.
