Robbers targeting small business owners in southeastern Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police say at least three small business owners have been followed home and robbed in southeastern Colorado Springs in the past month.

Police said all of the robbery victims are of Asian descent. In all three cases, the robbers followed the victims home after they closed their businesses late at night, between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. The first robbery happened April 22, and the most recent one was Saturday.

In two of the cases, the victims were robbed inside their garages, before they could close the garage door or go into the house. In the third case, the robber followed the victim home and then rang her doorbell.

Police said in all three cases, the suspects were armed with handguns. No one was injured in any of the robberies.

Police are asking business owners to be especially watchful for suspicious activity in and around their stores and restaurants. If you see any unusual or concerning activity, call police at 719-444-7000, or, if it’s an emergency, call 911.
