PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — Three people were arrested Wednesday after deputies found 180 illegal marijuana plants in a Pueblo County home. It’s the fifth illegal marijuana bust made by Pueblo County deputies in the past month.

Elio Hernandez Delgado, 45, Eladio Hernandez Ponce, 36, and Anaili Garcia Toledo, 32, were arrested Wednesday at their home on Greenhorn Creek Drive in southern Pueblo County. They’re each charged with cultivation of marijuana.

Deputies said all three of the suspects were originally from Cuba, and had recently moved to Colorado from Florida. One of the suspects bought the house in February.

After getting a tip about a possible illegal grow, deputies searched the house on April 5. They found marijuana plants in various stages of growth, extravagant lighting systems, planting supplies, and construction materials that detectives believe were going to be used to expand the grow operation.

The suspects told detectives they were operating a medical marijuana grow, but had no paperwork to substantiate the claim.
