Mad Hatter Day in Old Colorado City

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Old Colorado City is taking a trip down the rabbit hole with their third annual Mad Hatter Day.

All of the characters take part, including the Mad Hatter himself, the Red Queen and the White Rabbit.

Event organizer Pam Gressett said thousands of people come out to Bancroft Park every year for the vendors, live music, games and prizes.

But it’s not just for the kids. They also host a cocktail tea party for the adults and 16 other events throughout the day.

Gressett said it’s great for the whole family, but her favorite part about the event is seeing the kids dress up and have a good time.

“That’s what I love to do for them, to make a memory that they can take home with them and always talk about,” Gressett said.

She said before they started the Mad Hatter Day, they had been doing a normal Easter egg hunt for 20 years.

Every year the event is free and open to the public.
