COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — CDOT is launching a free roadside assistance program for rush hour drivers on Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs.

The program will operate along Interstate 25 between North Academy Boulevard and South Academy Boulevard from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. CDOT crews will provide drivers with free roadside assistance services, including changing flat tires, transferring fuel, jump starts, short-distance towing, and minor mechanical assistance.

Crews will be dispatched from the Colorado Springs Traffic Operations Center, and will also respond to requests from police and state patrol troopers.

CDOT said the Motorist Safety Program has operated in Denver for several years, and has been effective in enhancing safety and reducing congestion along the highway.
