Woman robbed at gunpoint while leaving Colorado Springs restaurant

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A woman was robbed at gunpoint by an acquaintance while leaving a Colorado Springs restaurant Tuesday evening.

Police said the robbery happened around 7 p.m. at a restaurant on North Academy Boulevard near Galley Road. A woman was leaving the restaurant when she was confronted by a man who tried to take her purse. Police said the man and the woman knew each other. The suspect, Trey Reamy, brandished a sword, then a gun, and the victim let go of her purse.

During the struggle, Reamy fired a shot at the ground near the victim, according to police.

An officer working an unrelated traffic crash caught Reamy as he crossed Academy Boulevard.
