Teller County home destroyed in early morning fire

TELLER COUNTY, Colo. — A house near Highway 24 and Green Mountain Falls is considered a total loss after a fire started this morning around 6 a.m.

Multiple agencies responded, including Green Mountain Falls Fire Department, Northeast Teller County Fire Department, Divide Fire, Cascade Fire and the El Paso County Wildland Fire Crew.

Firefighters said the home was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

No injuries have been reported, but firefighters said they have not yet made contact with the homeowners and aren’t sure if anyone was home at the time.
