PUEBLO, Colo. — A man was arrested after multiple police pursuits.

According to police, Michael Martinez, 46, had an outstanding warrant for violation of his parole. Officers spotted Martinez on Feb. 4 around 10:40 p.m. in Pueblo’s southside in a white Chrysler 300. Officers had attempted to stop the vehicle, but Martinez failed to yield. No pursuit was initiated at the time.

Around midnight, officers located the vehicle again, this time in area of CSU-Pueblo. While attempting to block one portion of the cul-de-sac, Martinez rammed the front of a police car and then rammed a second police car, on the driver’s side. A pursuit began, but was stopped shortly after due to high speeds and reckless driving.

Around 4:20 that same morning, officers saw Martinez in the same vehicle in the area of Lake and Minnequa Avenue. Another attempt was made to stop the vehicle, but Martinez rammed a third police car which initiated another pursuit.

Spike strips were then used as Martinez began to head southbound on I-25. His vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 3100 block of South I-25.

Martinez was taken into custody and will face vehicular assault, eluding and reckless driving charges.

No one was injured during the incidents and a cost estimate of police vehicle damage is to be determined
