New brewery brings something new to Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. — A new brewery in Pueblo had it’s official grand opening Friday night. It’s called Brues Alehouse and you can find it right along the Pueblo Riverwalk.

“It’s an old building plus it’s new construction so it’s been a crazy process,” said Tony Garcia, co-owner of Brues Alehouse.

Tony and the rest of the Garcia family decided it was time to bring something new to the people in Pueblo.

“You can do it somewhere else but really does it makes a difference in this community,” said Garcia.

The bakery serves homemade pastries and there’s a live stage for music lovers too. The new business partnered with the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and also held a ribbon cutting Friday night.

“Anytime you put people to work it’s a good thing for the community,” said Phyllis Samora, vice president for the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.

The brewery contributed to about 50 new jobs but what the chamber is also excited about is the use of a historical building that once was home to the police department.
